About GIRLS IN SPORTS FOUNDATION
The mission of Girls In Sport Foundation is to use the power of sports to unleash the potential in girls. We work to create long-term changes that lead to more positive conduct, stronger academic performance, and healthy social development across the board. The aim of the foundation is to encourage and inspire all girls to develop a positive relationship with body confidence, self-esteem, healthy lifestyles and social media through sports by shining the spotlight on leading women and role models in sport who have achieved their full potential.
Girls In Sports Foundation youth programs over the 3years have shown the possibilities young people can have if given the opportunity. Learning from people who were once like them, by challenging their mindset and the norms and giving them the opportunity to make themselves better.
Benny Bonsu founded the Girls In Sport Foundation because she is passionate about engaging young people, with focus on getting girls get into sport. Over the last two years, Benny has toured over 50+ schools in London and internationally with leading women (athletes, broadcasters and sports businesswomen) with her foundation inspiring a new change and building positive attitudes towards women and girls in sport. Girls In Sport has worked with over 2,000 girls over the last two years and growing.
Benny Bonsu is an award winning Sport Broadcast journalist, who was nominated for “Sportwoman Of the Year” by the Batons Award 2018, finalist for the prestigious Women Trust’s Award for “Best Media Individual of the Year 2017” and also won “Rising Star for Education and Academia Award for the “We Are The City” Awards 2017 for her work with Girls In Sport Foundation and also a qualified NPQSL (Senior Leader in education).
Girls In Sport Foundation has worked in partnership with Nike, Fusion Lifestyle, Harris Federation, WomenEd, THIS GIRL CAN, BCOMs, Women In Football, NCVO and countless numbers of the British Broadcasting networks to give our young people opportunities in personal development and in sport.
